Where is Mako island on the world map and does it exist?
The person who even just heard about the island of Mako, will almost certainly be one of the 250 million fans of the Australian TV series "H2O: just add water", the shooting of which began in 2006. This can be considered the birth year of one of the most mysterious locations in we do. But most likely, even the tempted spectator to the question: "Where is Mako island?" my answer is that no such island on Earth certainly does not exist on the map and never find it. And will be right, but... not quite.
It is this magical and mysterious island and brings the viewer series, which is now broadcast in more than hundred countries under different names, which were changed more than once. One of them – "Mako: island of secrets" - even caught on, but only for a while. In addition, this geographic location is the scene of another series that is a spin-off referred to above – "Secret of Mako island".
"The mysterious island" by Jules Verne not: another discovery of Australia
As the series hails from the continent, where kangaroos and wombats, it is logical to look for the prototype of the mermaid island out there somewhere. Indeed, this tactic is unmistakable: in the capital of the Australian state of Queensland, city of Brisbane, fans of the series can find a water Park, where one of the heroines of the series – Cleo. And although "in reality" it is called simply "Sea World", this is the place of "H2O". In a huge aquarium this aquarium was filmed underwater scenes, which are produced at young audience such a memorable and lasting impression. He also became a platform for the filming of the drowned "Loreley", scenes with dolphins and even a secret entrance into the volcano.
And cafes "Gusset", although under a different name, in Brisbane too. However, there is damped volcano, Golden Beach is not as spectacular as the moon pool was filmed at the beach pavilion, however, this part of Australia can be considered "real" and the fictional island on a tricky question: "where is Mako island on the map?" boldly answer, that it should look for around 27°28'04" South latitude and 153°01'41" East longitude, 27 meters above the sea level. On the Internet there are even pictures where you can see. In reality and without treatment are some of the serials landscape.
Secrets and mysteries of the nonexistent world
According to the legend series, this truly mysterious island is a product of a comet that fell to Earth, and is somewhere near the coast of Ireland – and so far, that it can sometimes get people (mostly – curious teenagers, who are the main audience of the series). However, in order to live there, they become mermaids. And the famous moon pool and not one – in the series reveals the mystery of its origin and the hypothesis that such ponds are in a few corners of our planet.
Mangrove forests, waterfalls, reefs and wrecks – even partially fictional, to finish on the computer and the imagination of the viewer, this island is beautiful. But dangerous too - if someone will be in this mystical place, it is necessary to remember that the Triton Reef is clearly not a tourist attraction, because there are not very friendly shark.
Mako island: dreams and realities
Of course, it's easy to prove that actually this island does not exist – in fact, Brisbane is really just a prototype set.
But really, he is - not only and not so much in Australia, as in fairyland, which are only accessible to people rich imagination and not older than a certain age. So maybe we should not look for the Mako island on the world map – in fact, he is far away and very close.
